Yesterday was my first “day off “ meaning I was able to work from home and limit it to a few hours and only visit one property, since returning home from a vacation with my wife. As many of you can no doubt relate to, when you return to work after being away, it's piled up high waiting for you.

This isn't meant as a complaint, without the work I couldn't afford the vacations, and I came home to two closings, several new listings and several new buyers. Nonetheless I enjoyed having time yesterday to work outside enjoying some great Fall weather while cleaning up our gardens, pruning back some of the landscaping and helping my wife get our Fall garden planted.

Front Yard Farms is currently producing eggplant, peppers, and basil (Making and putting up Pesto to enjoy for the rest of the year is on my to-do list this week). We've got some spinach, dill and turnips coming on that we planted a few weeks ago. Yesterday we put in more spinach, collards and kale, and started prepping the third and largest raised bed which we'll re-plant in 2-3 weeks with more winter greens etc. Right now it's the bed with eggplants etc.

I love this time of year here in North Carolina and could do this year round; with temperatures in the 60's to high 70's in the daytime and nights between 40-55 degrees. Perfect weather if you ask me. It's gently raining today so our timing for planting was perfect.

Fall is typically the time of year I set my business plan for the coming year. Presently I'm still extremely busy with both buyers and sellers and after tweaking some of my Internet marketing and based on both the local and national projections for the economy as well as my sense of the local real estate market I'm anticipating 2013 to be another banner year.

About two months ago I made the decision to bring on another licensed Broker to assist me and handle my excess business and it was a long overdue move on my part. 's now part of the NCHomesbyLarryT Team and I couldn't be more pleased. She's out getting a listing signed up for us now and I'm really looking forward to the business we're going to be doing together this coming year. I feel confidant that my clients will see an improvement in the service I'm able to provide them.

If you live in the Durham, Chapel Hill, Carrboro, Hillsborough or Pittsboro area here in North Carolina and think you'll be either selling or buying some real estate sometime in the next year or are interested in urban gardening and want to chat, feel free to give me a call or send an email. I'd love to hear from you.
