We're just seven short days away from the kick off of the 2013 Triangle Restaurant Week and with the opening of so many new and exciting restaurants throughout the Triangle we're all going to need to work up a powerful appetite. Here's the perfect chance to try some of the places you've been meaning to check out. From January 21 through January 27, roughly 6 dozen restaurants (so far, I expect more to come) are offering fixed price three course dinner menus for either $20 or $30 and lunches for $10. It's a great opportunity to enjoy some wonderful food, catch up with some friends, support our local businesses and simply celebrate one of the many reasons that Chapel Hill, Durham, Raleigh, Cary, and the surrounding area are such wonderful places to live and work.

TriRestaurantWeek is also a good chance to start your “training” for the upcoming Bull City Food & Beer Experience coming to DPAC on February 24th. (Trust me; I've already purchased tickets for my wife and I), featuring 20 local restaurants pairing their food with both North Carolina brews as well as beers from across the country and around the world. There be guest speakers from the Sierra Nevada Brewing Co, New Belgium Brewers and Oskar Blues as well as live music from Mipso If getting to eat good food and drink some great beers while listening to live music at DPAC isn't enough to get you to show up, there's always the fact that this is a fund raiser for The Ellerbe Creek Watershed Association, whose mission is to:

  • Enable a living creek - a healthy stream in which an appropriately diverse group of native fish and invertebrate species thrive.
  • Create a network of preserves and trails along which people can hike, bike, and walk from the Ellerbe Creek headwaters to Falls Lake.
  • Build ties among Durham's diverse neighborhoods and communities using Ellerbe Creek as a link.
  • Partner with the City and other groups that seek to move Durham to become a regional model for proactive urban stormwater management.
  • Help adults, and especially kids, have the opportunity to enjoy and appreciate being outdoors in a learning and safe environment.

When I'm not busy selling real estate, there's very little I like more than sharing good food and drink with friends and clients and you can count on seeing me out and about for both these upcoming events.
