The Pittsboro Real Estate Market
While the recession had an effect on Pittsboro home values, by 2012 things started picking back up and this has continued. With the addition of Chatham Park which will be developed on Pittsboro's eastern side not far from Jordan Lake and just west of Apex the next several years are likely to see prices and development both spike upwards.
In 2014 the average single family home in the Pittsboro area sold in the range of $275,000. These homes were typically 10-12 years old and offered 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths. The vibrant arts community, picturesque rural landscape, relatively low property taxes and good schools, and easy access to Chapel Hill, Durham and the Research Triangle Park for employment opportunities all contribute to Pittsboro's desirability. Some of the master-planned communities include Legend Oaks, Fearrington Village and Briar Chapel. These neighborhoods have seen a steady turnover in real estate, so there's almost always a great home for sale in a preferred community.
Pittsboro Community Highlights
There are large, big-box retailers in Pittsboro, including Home Depot and Walmart, but many of the shops most favored are local. These include the French Connections that sell a variety of antiques and imports from France. Many people also enjoy smaller gift shops Vespertine and Urban Sampler. Pittsboro is also starting to boast some good restaurants and it won’t surprise me if they soon become another destination spot to eat. In terms of recreation in Pittsboro you be sure to want to check out the scenic Haw River and Jordan Lake State
Pittsboro North Carolina’s future is indeed bright and it may not be long before we have to change our brand from the Research Triangle to the Research Rectangle as we recognize that Pittsboro has arrived
