Small town living, with city amenities.
First on the list is the feeling of living in a small town. Neighbors see each other regularly when out at the local co-op market, restaurants on Churton Street, or checking a book out of the library. The town has annual gatherings, such as reading of the U.S. Constitution at the courthouse on the 4th of July and the ever-popular holiday parade that shuts down a major thoroughfare for local groups on floats. The town has charm, but is close enough to Chapel Hill, Durham, and Raleigh to still enjoy the benefits of a wonderful art and unique foodie scene.
The neighbors.
There is a strong sense of community in Churton Grove. Neighbors establish close relationships and pitch in when needed for emergencies. We have heard stories of neighbors helping out during emergency room runs or housing extra relatives for those that needed just a few more rooms during the holidays.
HOA activities.
The homeowners association regularly plans neighborhood events that include a very kid-friendly egg hunt, local music at the gazebo, movie nights under the stars, costume contests, and summer ice cream and popsicles for the pool opening. These are just a few HOA sponsored activities that keep neighbors involved and create opportunities to get to know one another.
