Array is a 12 lot neighborhood on 60 acres of land in Orange County located only ten minutes west of Carrboro and Chapel Hill. Homes in Array will be certified according to the National Green Standards, in addition to conforming to passive house and community standards. Homes will be energy efficient with the highest possible air quality and 56% of the acreage will be protected and deeded space. The community will feature a pond and walking trails, in addition to a community garden.
Since these homes will conform to many standards, there will be HOA and covenants on what can and cannot be done. This is actually very helpful if you are a first-time buyer and are unsure of the implications of net-zero homes, but should be noted if you are in the market for something more custom. Other common questions on net-zero houses are what are the water and sewage plans and other modern amenities. Array will have well and septic, ATT providing internet, and Net metering by Duke Energy.
Lots are 1.5- 1.87 acres and range from $210,000-$220,000 and homes are built and customized by Atmos.
