My wife and I relocated to the Durham, North Carolina in 2004. We were drawn to the university atmosphere, with an active art and foodie community. The Triangle area was extremely attractive to us, with easy access to high-quality medical facilities, a major airport, and the bonus of nearby mountains and beach. The transformation and build up of the Triangle since our arrival has been amazing to witness.
I was first licensed as a Real Estate Broker in 1984. In 1991 I began working full time as a Broker and in 1992 took over managing North Real Estate in Vermont for 12 years. Relocating from the blistering cold of Vermont to North Carolina was a welcomed change. Andrew Palumbo and I knew each other in Vermont and were friendly competitors. We did not connect until we were both in Durham, where we co-manage My NC Homes and dedicate ourselves to providing our clients with the best service.
The team and I have continuously earned awards and I am ranked as a top producing realtor in the Triangle area. In 2016 we were recognized as one of the 100 Most Influential Teams in North Carolina. My clients find my extensive background in residential real estate and construction are a benefit to them during the home buying and selling process.

I have a great passion for food and wine. While my career began in hotels and restaurants as an executive chef, I found great happiness in real estate. The Triangle area has been an excellent place to explore unique restaurants, farmers markets, and speciality food stores. Throughout my time in the Triangle, I’ve witness the growth of new communities and amenities that cater to the developing area.
Our first move to the area was in the Duke Forest neighborhood in Durham. We enjoyed being close to Duke University and downtown Durham. After 12 years in Durham, we downsized to Briar Chapel - a vibrant community just outside of Chapel Hill. Located in northern Chatham County, Briar Chapel is a great neighborhood to buy new construction. Benefits of new energy efficient homes, and close access to UNC, downtown Chapel Hill, Carrboro, and Pittsboro are just a few of the many highlights. We now have the bonus of the lowest property tax rate within the Triangle area, which is often a consideration for my clients.
Real Estate Certifications
Staying up to date and maintaining certifications is extremely important in the real estate field. There are changes to real estate processes and laws, making it key for My NC Homes to stay current to best represent our clients. For buyers, my Short Sales and Foreclosure Resource (SFR) and e-PRO certifications enable me to better find properties that meet specific criteria. Additionally, I am able to analyze the home's true market value and demonstrate how a neighborhood’s value has trended over time. Having a partner who was a licensed appraiser for many years comes in handy.
For seller’s I am a Strategic Pricing Specialist® and later this year will receive my Luxury Home Marketing designation. My NC Homes designs marketing campaigns to maximize local, national, and international exposure to buyers. Our proven systems guarantee a home receives the most effective marketing possible.
