"We try to create a unique home for each customer,” he said. “We work with customers and consider together how they will live in their home and then design the details to fit their lifestyle."

Reiser started MJR Homes after a 25-year career working for large, national commercial and residential builders. During that time, he learned all of the ins and outs of the building industry, including land acquisition, building sciences, and best practices.

He believes that’s what sets him apart from other builders. “My large company experience gives me greater insight into efficient building practices,” he said, adding that MJR Homes offers warranties, energy information, detailed design and engineering on all of their homes -- services typically associated with big builders. It's the best of both worlds,” said Reiser.

Something that’s especially important to Reiser, and his customers, is energy efficiency. While many builders build to high energy efficiency standards, Reiser takes it an extra step. “Every house we build is certified by a third-party energy expert,” he said. “We want our customers to know they are getting an energy efficient home that will be comfortable for years to come.”

But most of all, Reiser enjoys building custom homes because of the details that go into making a home truly unique. “It’s fun, and a passion for me,” he said.
