The Research Triangle and the Raleigh Durham and Chapel Hill area are regulars in the culinary news. Some of the best chefs in the South are choosing this area and whether it is the access to incredible local farms or the culture of innovation being amongst so many universities, chefs are doing really exciting things here. It is not just in fine dining either! Some of the best eats in the city are coming from food trucks, which make the dining really accessible. Here are our Top 7 favorite food trucks in The Triangle. Here's to summer!

Boricua Soul

Boricua Soul is a fusion food truck that mixes Caribbean and southern soul food. Some of the favorites are empanadas, pork platters, and tostones. While it might not sound very typical, this mix is really representative of the diversity of The Triangle and it really is delicious.

Bulkogi

Why wouldn't BBQ do well in the South? Bulkogi offers deep-flavored Korean BBQ, in generous portions, with amazing toppings including kimchi, fried eggs, wrapped up in completely unusual vehicles like burritos and bowls. Run after this truck!

Taco's El Nino

Taco's El Nino is a classic taco truck that is parked permanently between Chapel Hill and Carrboro and there is always a line. Tacos are great any time of year, whether it is on the way back from boating on Lake Jordan, or late at night. Definitely take a stop at Taco's El Nino.

Chirba Chirba Dumplings

Dumplings are perfect street food. Asia offers amazing street foods and Chirba brings the best of Asian street food to the Triangle. Dumplings, glass noodles, rice bowls, and more are favorites at Chirba Dumplings.

Napoli, Carrboro

Not only is Napoli the hottest truck in The Triangle, literally it has a wood burning oven on the food truck, but it has a brick and mortar location in Carrboro. This is a great slice and you don’t have to run down the truck.

Not Just Icing

Raise your hand if you like the cookie dough more than the cookie? You would not be alone. Not Just Icing is an edible cookie dough truck that also serves mouth watering ice cream. This is such a nice treat for a date night or at one of the many outdoor concerts on The Triangle this summer.

Funnel Queens

Summoning all of the summertime fair energy, Funnel Queens are the, well, queens of Funnel Cake. Made popular at state fairs, there is a lot more to funnel cakes and this truck shows you how far the funnel can go!

Whether you are in Carrboro, Raleigh, or Cary, you can find these trucks all over The Triangle. The best way to track them down is to follow them on Twitter where you can also follow My NC Homes. We know we've missed many other incredible food trucks throughout the Triangle; the truth is we had to limit ourselves, but we'd love to hear about your favorites.
