The Triangle has gained quite a reputation for its food scene, but did you know the worlds largest beer garden, the first fully woman owned brewery, and first urban winery are also in The Triangle? The area around The Triangle is incredibly fertile and farmers and small vineyards thrive. Not only is it literally fertile, but it is also figuratively fertile with so many innovators and mixologists making the most of the wealth of local products. We also benefit from brewers and distillers who open their doors and hold great events. Here is our list of the best

North Carolina chefs have access to incredible variety seasonal fruit and vegetables, proximity to the low country and shellfish, and incredible farms providing fresh poultry, beef and pork of every variety nearby, offering the advantage of locally sourced ingredients, regardless of the cuisine. This sets the stage for a truly vibrant, exciting, nationally recognized and awarded dining scene. Summer 2021 is looking a lot more normal in The Triangle with new restaurants popping up, live music bookings, baseball games, and much more. North Carolina is one of the best places to enjoy summer from the Outerbanks to The Blue Ridge Mountains, and of course the varied culture and events throughout the Research Triangle area. People are keeping closer to home this summer, but most have an itch to get outside, so these events are focused on enjoying the outdoors, food and drink, sports, and music. If you have a suggestion, please leave us a comment! Whether you are a summer resident coming to town from Cashiers, or you are heading in for a Bulls game from Cape Hatteras, here are some of the best events "in town."

Memorial Day is the first holiday where we will likely see many people out and about in The Triangle, and it is a beautiful time of year in Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill. Many will honor those fallen in conflict and in service of our country, we also use it as a day to celebrate what makes our country worth fighting for. Here are some of the events in the area and ideas for enjoying the long weekend. We also have included some venues that have recently reopened for enjoying live music and sports!

Affordable places to eat in Chapel Hill

Looking for a quick bite in Chapel Hill? There are many excellent restaurants in Chapel Hill, ranging from extravagant bistros to fast and inexpensive eateries. Below are some of my favorite cheap eats in the area.

Sutton's Drug Store

Sutton's is an old-fashioned drug store and soda fountain located on East Franklin Street, right next to UNC's campus. Sutton's has been in business since 1923, and has been owned by John Woodard since 1977. Although the restaurant also offers deli sandwiches, salads, and hotdogs, it is known for its mouth-watering burgers that are served to customers straight off the grill in the back of the store.

Woodard regularly takes photos of customers and hangs them on the restaurant's walls, a tradition that he began in…

3 Best International Restaurants in Cary, NC

Although largely known for its great master-planned communities, Cary is also home to an abundance of restaurants offering up savory flavors from around the world. In part due to its diverse population, you can find everything from handmade Italian pasta and fresh sushi, to mouthwatering briskets and spicy samosas.

If you're eager to mix things up for date night or are eager to try something new, here are a few of my personal favorites:

Sushi-Thai

Every Friday and Saturday night, Sushi-Thai is packed with families and friends enjoying great food and company. Staffed by some of the most genuine and personable people I have ever met, dining at Sushi-Thai is always an excellent experience.

In addition to sushi, which is sometimes served in…

best craft beer festivals in the triangle

The Triangle boasts a wide range of breweries and craft beer styles, and beer enthusiasts can sample many of them at the area's three best beer festivals.

A couple weeks ago, local beer blogger Kyle Rubeling offered some of the can't-miss breweries in the Triangle. But if you want to try them all at once (and you have a designated driver), a beer festival is the way to do it.

Here are the Triangle's three beer festivals, when and where they are, and what you can expect to see (and taste) at each.

World Beer Festival - Raleigh and Durham

This is actually two beer festivals, as the the World Beer Fest takes place in the spring in Raleigh and in the fall in Durham. Both festivals are a favorite among casual beer drinkers and beer enthusiasts…
