Summer 2021 is looking a lot more normal in The Triangle with new restaurants popping up, live music bookings, baseball games, and much more. North Carolina is one of the best places to enjoy summer from the Outerbanks to The Blue Ridge Mountains, and of course the varied culture and events throughout the Research Triangle area. People are keeping closer to home this summer, but most have an itch to get outside, so these events are focused on enjoying the outdoors, food and drink, sports, and music. If you have a suggestion, please leave us a comment! Whether you are a summer resident coming to town from Cashiers, or you are heading in for a Bulls game from Cape Hatteras, here are some of the best events "in town."

Dorothea Dix Park in Raleigh

Dorothea Dix Park is one of the best and most popular places to unwind and relax in The Triangle. It offers a program of youth and adult yoga, Tai Chi, and the events center, Chapel Events Center. Chapel Events Center has programming built out for summer including the Acorn Live Music Series, which are local artists performing twice a month on Sunday Afternoons, tours of the grounds, night markets, flea markets, and outdoor movies. Here is a link to the Calendar.

Honeysuckle Tea House Chapel Hill

Honeysuckle Tea House in Chapel Hill if you are visiting from out of town or deciding to come into town from the mountains for an afternoon, the Honeysuckle Tea House is truly a unique experience to check out. It is a farm, tea house, and meadery, yes mead, as in ancient honey wine, all in one. Teas are made from berries and herbs grown on-site and of course, ancient honey wine is also served. Beverages are made using old-world wine techniques, co-fermentation, and on-site experiments; which combine for a completely unique experience in Chapel Hill. The Honeysuckle Tea House also hosts special events, calendar here!

Poole’side Pies Raleigh

In case you hadn’t heard of Chef Ashley Christensen, she is one of the top chefs in the US, was awarded a number of regional and national James Beard awards, AND opened a new concept to add to her stable of Raleigh restaurants. This time she opened a pizza parlor with reasonable prices and take-out menus. Sure to be a summer favorite, this is a must-try for Summer 2021.
