Medical Facilities in the Durham, Chapel Hill, and Cary

While Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Cary, and other towns in the Research Triangle Area have a homey, small city atmosphere, there is nothing small about medical care in the region. With a physician-to-population ratio of more than four times the national average, Durham is referred to as the City of Medicine. The Triangle area has first-rate medical care and medical facilities.

The area is home to two of the nation’s leading medical teaching and research hospitals: Duke University and UNC Chapel Hill. These hospitals train students of medicine, nursing, and other health science specialties.
