Who doesn't love a good list? Here's a link to Liveability.com's 2014 Best Places to Live and my home city Durham NC ranks #4 and ten minutes away where my real estate office is located; Chapel Hill NC ranked #71. It's nice to live, work and play in such a highly desirable location and easy to understand why.

Here's just some of the things I love about the area:

UNC and Duke University:

You can't beat having two world class Universities within 15 minutes of one another that attract some of the smartest minds both teaching and students to the area is a huge plus. It creates a highly educated, well traveled, open minded environment at large and offers so many opportunities to meet, interact and learn from an amazing group of people. UNC and Duke offer the added advantage of world class medical facilities if needed as well as being a major part of the economic vitality of the Research Triangle area. Did I forget to mention ACC Basketball?

The Arts:

DPAC, The Carolina Theater, Cary Booth Amphitheater, Most of downtown Carrboro, the Nasher Mueseum, Hayti Heritage Center; American Dance Theater Festival, Full Frame Festival within a 30 minute drive there are dozens of incredible arts venue regardless of what you're interest may be. From Blues to Symphonies, from the absurd to the sublime, Durham, Chapel Hill and the surrounding towns have it in spades.

The Food:

Honestly Durham and Chapel Hill kick serious food butt. There's hardly a national publication, TV or radio show about food that hasn't recognized this area for it's food scene, whether it's 4 and 5 star restaurants, food trucks, bakeries, barbecue joints, Mexican, Indian, Thai, Tapas, Pizza or Farmers Markets featuring anything yo u might be looking for, we've got it here. It was one of my wife and my priorities when we were looking to relocate and we hit the jackpot.

The Weather:

I relocated here from Vermont and I'll be honest, I like it better here. I can garden nearly year round and having traveled many places over the years, I can say with some authority that in April this truly may be one of the prettiest places you'll ever see.

There's many more reason I love living here and it's easy to see why this area was noted in the 2014 Best Places to Live list. If I can help you find a great home or sell your home here in the Triangle, please feel free to contact us, my team and I would love to hear from you.
