Pumpkin Patches in Cary, NC

Pumpkin carving is one of the most cherished Halloween traditions, but going out to the farm, picking the perfect pumpkins, and sharing in some good old family fun is how great family memories are truly created. Lucky for residents of the Triangle, there are a number of family-owned farms in the area that offer plenty of wholesome fun and fantastic pumpkins too!

Here’s your guide to some spooktacular family fun this Fall in the Triangle.

McKee’s Cedar Creek Farm in Rougemont

Located about 25 minutes north of Durham, McKee’s Cedar Creek Farm has been a Triangle family favorite for generations. Every Fall, the farm creates a unique pattern in their 12-acre corn maze to challenge and impress their visitors. For little adventurers, they also feature two smaller mazes as well.

Other fun family activities include hayrides, crafts, a play area for kids, Maple View ice cream, live entertainment, a trip to the pumpkin patch, visits with the farm animals, and so much more.

Dates: September 24 to October 30
Times: Fridays 3pm – 8pm, Saturdays 10am – 8pm, Sundays 1pm – 7pm.
Cost: Admission is $11 for 3+ years, the Haunted Maze is $12.

Upchurch Farm in Cary

Wander through the corn maze, hang out with your favorite farm animals, and play on Haystack Mountain, and let the little ones find their way through the hay maze. They even offer a Corn Crib – similar to a ball pit, but with dried corn kernels instead - which will surely inspire your inner child. There’s also a guided wagon tour of the property and every admission can pick one free pumpkin, fresh from the patch.

Before you go, be sure to stop by Farmer Granyard’s Market to check out their seasonal produce, homemade crafts, and canned goods – all locally produced here in the Triangle!

Green Acres Farm in Cary

Every year, Green Acres Farm in Cary continues to out-do themselves. This year, they’ve partnered with the Make-A-Wish foundation which has been the inspiration for this year’s corn maze. Make-A-Wish families receive free admission to the event and a portion of the farm’s proceeds will be donated at the end of the season to this great cause.

Your admission will include access to the corn maze, hayrides, bouncy castles, a playground, mini-games, and firetruck displays. Face painting, pony rides, horseback rides, the pumpkin patch, and other fun activities are also available for a small price. With the largest corn maze in the Triangle, it’s best to set aside a good amount of time to get the most out of your visit to Green Acres.

Times: Saturdays 9am – 10pm, Sundays 11am – 7pm
Cost: Admission is $10 for 3+. *Special rates for military and first-responders. Bring a canned food item and receive $1 off admission per person.
