My NC Homes Festival and Events Roundup for October
North Carolinians are proud to share what a season's hard work provides. From coast to coast, North Carolina offers some of the best in agriculture, sports, culture, and art. The My NC Homes roundup features events and festivals around the Triangle and beyond. Since the Triangle is centrally located in the beautiful state of North Carolina, we are lucky enough to make manageable day trips all around the state.
First week of October
This festival will take place from 10AM-4PM on Saturday, October 6th at Historic Oak View County Park. Wake County's Heritage Day will honor the old-time "county fair" type event. The festival will feature lots of live animals, antique farm equipment displays, heritage crafts, handmade items, live music, antique cars, horse-drawn carriage rides, cane pole fishing, food, and many activities for kids!
This fair will occur October 6th from 3PM-5PM at Commons at North Hills in Raleigh. This fair is perfect for children and adults of all ages. This unique fair run by the William Pope Foundation is dedicated exclusively to local businesses operated by children. More than 40 young entrepreneurs will be open for business.
The 32nd annual NC Seafood Festival will not take place this year due to Hurricane Florence. We felt it was worth mentioning on this list because this festival has raised almost $2 million to benefit local business and organizations over the years. It is a local favorite! In lieu of this year's festival, the North Carolina Seafood Festival Board of Directors has made the decision to hold an outdoor event on November 3rd to benefit relief efforts for Carteret County and neighboring communities this year. The hurricane benefit event will be held on the Morehead City waterfront and will focus on hurricane relief efforts with food, music, and fun for all ages.
2nd Week of October
The epic North Carolina State Fair will take place October 11th-21st at the NC State Fairgrounds in Raleigh. This signature fair features live music, unique eats, entertainment, live music and more for children and adults. My NC Homes will post updates and event specials in the coming weeks; stay tuned.
Celebrate India and the Diwali holiday on October 13th at the Booth Amphitheatre in Cary. From 10AM to 8:30PM festival goers will enjoy music, dance, crafts, and food for this Indian holiday festival. The kids will love the fireworks display over Symphony Lake to end the event!
