It's been too long since I've last written, I wanted to write more, thought about it guiltily, and there was plenty to write about but there are times when the demands of my job consume nearly every available bit of time I have and 2011 has demanded my complete attention.

I've enjoyed an unprecedented run of great clients, bringing on dozens of new buyers and sellers since the start of the year. Several of my listings are under contract and have or will close in the next thirty days, and I've got 8 of my buyers already closed or scheduled to close.

One of the things I most enjoy about my work is the people I get to meet, their all different and all respond differently during the negotiation process. It keeps things interesting and leads me to all sorts of new friendships.

Speaking of friendships, my wife Angela and I spend last weekend in Atlanta for our 32nd anniversary. We went there to visit catch up with two former Durham residents and clients/friends who left the area after graduating from Duke nearly four years ago. Had a wonderful time and it was great seeing two younger couples doing well.

It's A Buyers Market

How's the market- Great for buyers prices continue to languish near recent lows as supply is outpacing demand. Sellers who really want to sell need to price accordingly. Those that do and who are aggressively marketed are selling. For the moment interest rates are still very attractive but I am concerned that we will soon start rising and that they may go up more than 1% above where they are now by the end of the year.

The Full Frame Film Festival In Durham

Next weekend Durham again hosts the world renown Full Frame Festival. Beginning April 14th more than 100 of the worlds finest documentary films will be featured in downtown Durham. This is a must see event for anyone interested in film and another reason I love living here in Durham.

Troubling Times For Greenbridge Development

More Chapel Hill homeowners who purchased in the upscale Greenbridge development learned that the property may be headed for foreclosure as Bank of America pulls the developers financing and contractors file liens Greenbridge Struggling. Buyers would be well advised that when it comes to new construction there are risks that may be apparent at first. Do your diligence and work with knowledgeable real estate professionals.
