Memorial Day Weekend at the Winery

If you’re hanging around the area this long weekend, the Chatham Hill Winery has your ticket to the flavors of the Triangle! They’ll be offering wine tastings, tours of the vineyards, sandwiches for sale, and frozen wine treats! They’ve got everything you need to enjoy a little red, a little white, and all that’s missing is you!

Rhapsody in Red, White, and Blue: An American Celebration

This musical adventure at the Koka Booth Amphitheater in Regency Park will pay tribute to our past and present military veterans. Enjoy music by George Gershwin, Aaron Copland, John Williams, and John Philip Sousa, just to name a few, along with a salute to our service men and women from then and now.

Memorial Day Parade

The annual Memorial Day Parade will run from Davis Rd. to Royalsborough Rd. and will feature vets, emergency service members, historic cars, military vehicles, and children’s groups.  Just before the parade, there will also be a 5 kilometer fun run benefitting AMVETS Post 13. Lace up your sneakers and hit the pavement for a good cause this Memorial Day!

Memorial Day Soldier Salute

This Memorial Day, head on down to the Bennett Place Historic Site to take in stories from historians, and check out uniforms and artifacts from various wars over the last century. This event is free and is a great way to pay your respects first-hand to those who fought so gallantly for our freedoms.

Visit A State Park or National Historic Site!

If you’re more the kind to shy away from a big crowd, then maybe visiting a state park would be right up your alley. The Triangle area is ripe with a selection of State Parks that are loaded with history and easy recreational offerings. Occoneechee Mountain State Natural Area, Eno River State Park, Falls Lake State Recreation Area, or the Umstead State Park would all make for great day trips.
